My children absolutely loved this activity. Although it needed a little pre-planning (which they were part of), this activity kept them busy for nearly an hour.
Collect (or get your children to) lots of small plastic toys. Put them into a large bowl and fill with water (leave about an inch at the top for the water to expand)! Put the bowl in the freezer.
The next day get a washing up bowl and upturn large frozen bowl into it. Give the children spoons and a squeezy bottle of warm water and let them get excavating!!
It took about an hour, and lots of warm water, to free all the plastic toys from the ice. What fun!! Thanks for reading!

We love doing this too! We once froze a selection of my sons die-cast thomas the tank trains and it kept him busy ages. #fabfridaypost

It’s absolutely freezing today!! Certainly not the day for this activity. I found that deep bowls kept the ice and water contained and it was surprisingly very tidy!!

We’ve done this before using Lego guys and my kids just loved it! We did add salt and hair dryer to their arsenal of tools and they had the best time brainstorming how to get their guy out faster. #FabFridayPost

What a “quick” and easy activity! My girls would enjoy this, though they are old enough to know if they got bored of it they could just wait for the ice to melt. Great idea though!
